Kiwi's 6th Birthday!

Six years ago today, my sweet angel was born. I am pretty sure on this day, I was pleading with my mom to let me get a chihuahua. Yes, I was 19 but I was still living at home. She was concerned that since I worked 40 hours a week, all crazy hours, that a puppy would not be trained or get the love it needed. So we kept thinking and thinking and thinking about it. Mom suggested I get a book on chihuahuas and training them, so I did! I read it cover to cover ;)

4 weeks later, in passing conversation, this guy I worked with mentioned that his mom bred chihuahuas. I dont like breeders that breed heavily, and I didnt want a "puppy mill" dog. I refuse to support such cruelty. He assured me that his mom only allowed 1 maybe 2 litters a year, and that they didn't sell for profit. I still wasnt convinced, so he said I could come visit anytime, unannounced. :) That I liked! He also said "Hershey" (the momma dog) was a princess that slept in the bed with his mom, and she was no "meal ticket"! I liked that even more. So I agreed to $150 for a puppy when it was time. There were 2 puppies: 1 boy & 1 girl. Only 1 problem!! I wanted a girl and his mom wanted to keep the only girl. So I settled for the boy puppy. Well somewhere between then and 2 weeks later when the puppy were weaned, she decided since I was paying, I should have the choice to pick. So we met at Publix (ha! where else would we meet?!?), she put both puppies on the ground for me to see which one I wanted. Both were completely presh! The little girl ran right to me and jumped up on me! The little boy when right back to her. We laughed and decided that she made the decision for us! They called her "Boots" because her paws are white :) She weighed 1 lb and 1 oz. We got in the car and headed to PetSmart! She was so cute and sweet! And .... then.... she threw-up all in my purse!! I just laughed and figured it was great she kept it in my purse and not all over my seat. I bought a collar, leash, bowls, toys, treats, EVERYTHING!! I was ready!

All she needed now was a name. I wanted something bitchy sounding cuz chis are so snotty.  I considered Siren, because of the myth of the ships wrecking from the singing. But it just didnt suit her, so I searched the internet for something cute. My uncle suggested something fruity like apple or Kiwi. I was like Kiwi? (thinking to myself) And her little ears perked up and she ran to me. That was that. Kiwi chose me, and chose her own name!! I added Strawberry because every princess needs a full name!!

I prepared myself for her crying at night, but OMGOSH she never stopped! I read somewhere that you should put a 2 liter bottle of warm water, wrapped in a blanket, in there bed with them, because the warmth reminds them of their mom. I also put a ticking clock in there with her because that sounds like a heartbeat. That lasted about 2 hours. All week, she cried ALL NIGHT long. I cried with her, thinking I had made a huge mistake and that she would never stop!! Finally, I couldnt stand it so I put her in my bed and she went right to sleep! Thus began her intense spoiling.

She wiggled her way into my moms heart and eventually started running back and forth between my bed and moms bed. That got old fast cuz she was waking us up constantly! She paws at the covers like shes knocking to get in (she still does it!) so you will lift up the covers and she runs down by your hip and snuggles in. We (Mom) got her a nice crate that is much bigger than needed for a chihuahua and she loved it! We put a pillow, with one of moms old pillowcases, and a big pink fuzzy blanket in it. Mom hates to see a dog in a crate locked up, so she puts a blanket over the front so she cant see them. This gave Kiwi some quiet time to rest without having to "watch over" the house. It works out great! It creates a cave like bed for them. making them feel safe and secure.

Fast forward 3 years>>> Jess comes over for the first time to meet my mom. Jess loves aniamls (duh!) and she tried to sit close to me and Kiwi jumped in my lap and growled at her. HA! Jess tried to let her smell her and wait for her to warm up but Kiwi just kept nipping at her. I found this hilarious! But Jess' heart was broken and she thought Kiwi would never like her. Over time, Kiwi came to love her. Although, if Jess comes toward me to fast or put her hands too close to my face, even for just for a kiss, Kiwi gets nippy. I find this super cute!!

>Happy Birthday Baby!! (9-8-10)

>Yesterday was Jess' 22nd birthday!! I had to work most the day yesterday but we did go out to eat last night. Random story while I was working though: This elderly lady came through my line with a cake for her husband that read "Bake Happy 85th Birthday!!" How awesome is that.. a man also called Bake was celebrating his 85th birthday the same day my Bake was celebrating her 22nd. :) Tooo Cute!!

I hope she had the best birthday ever even though we didnt do much as I was working and she was exhausted from basketball. :)

I love you more than anything else in this world!!

>Memories in the Making =)

>We're still here! We apparently took a short break from blogging, but we're back!! Im officially done with fall quarter, things didnt go exactly the way I wanted but all is well. I'll just study harder next time. I got all B's and that is unacceptable to me. Although, Jess keeps telling me B's are good! I just stress about not getting A's because Im terrified of not getting into nursing school. Im so glad its over for now and it couldnt be at a more perfect time with the holidays just around the corner. I dont go back till Jan 11th!! =)

Basketball Season has officially began and I so love seeing her play! My favorite days are the road trips my bff and I take for games. We go to the games within a 3 hrs radius of home. Although this past weekend, she was in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. And that trip was just too far for me to drive, plus it was my mom's birthday. So I went home to moms and she went to Fl. While I always enjoy hanging out with my mom, spending almost 4 days apart was unbearable. =( We missed each other like crazy and trying to sleep without her was almost impossible. As if that wasnt bad enough, she texted me Saturday and tells me she's stuck in the hotel elevator. Ok, in reality I know she'lll be fine, there's no need to worry and the situation is probably actually funny. However, I'm extremely claustrophobic and just the thought of her stuck made me feel sick and my chest all tight.. ahhh... of course in 20-30 min the firemen got them out. No big deal. Haha but the best part was one of her teammates got it all on video and posted it on facebook. Needless to say it was pretty funny! The best part to me was watching the fireman rescuing Jess. Jess is the "tough boyish one" and she was like a "damsel in distress" that had no choice but to let the fireman get her out the elevator. :D It was priceless. I drove home yesterday at 7 am as soon as it was slightly daylight and my mom wouldnt fuss about me driving in the dark (shes a bit of a worrier). I couldnt wait to get home and snuggle with my baby!!

Last night was our New Moon Date Night. I love date night more than anything! But seeing New Moon just made it 100x better!! :D The movie was amazing!! And as much as we loved Twilight, New Moon was way better. Im glad they didnt change out "Jacob" because I dont think the movie would have been the same. And that 30 lbs of muscles he gained.. O.M.G.!! The whole movie I was just like DAMN!! hahaha Jess was starting to get a little worried I think, lol. Of course, she never has anything to worry about. But after you read a book, fall in love with characters and the actors actually meet your expectations on screen, you just fall harder for them. The funny thing is the whole time I was reading the books I HATED JACOB. I was Team Edward all the way. BUT! In the movies, Im all Team Jacob!! I dont like Robert Pattinson for Edward at all. Although, I think he was much better in New Moon than Twilight. I just think Taylor Lautner portrays Jacob perfectly. We saw Twilight twice in theathres, I cant wait to see it again!! I just hope we can afford to go again! Omgosh, It was Packed! And we knew this, so we got in line an hour and half early and so did about 100 other people. But we were first which Jess just loved :D When they let us in, it was almost completely full in 10 min. People would come in and seemed to be completely stunned that there wasnt anywhere left to sit. I mean, really? Did they really think there would be seats 10 min before the movie actually started?! We had already prepared ourselves for this and sat on the end, so when the manager came in and told people to make room and slide to the ends of the rows, we were already there. Good thing too, because I would not have moved anyways. I was there early and I shouldnt have to be inconvienced by there tardiness. Our end seats were actually in the middle because we were by the top set of stairs. So it was perfect.

:D

>Update.

>So I blogged about this potenial job in an earlier post, well the job called me and asked if I could change my class schedule to fit their needs.. I said I could. But they wanted me to make sure and call them back. So I did. No one answered. For like a week and half.. I didnt hear anything. Then the lady called back and informed me that she doesnt work at the branch that was hiring, she hires for all branches, but she believed that position had been filled!! WHAT?! You asked me to change my schedule and then never call back?? UGH! That was like 5 weeks ago.. this morning I got an email saying the position had been filled and thanking me for my interest in their company. Wow.. really??? A little late there B.B&t!!

Anywho- its been a rather boring 5 weeks. Although I go back next week!! YAY!! Tues (Sept-8) was Jess' 21st Birthday!! We went out to dinner with some friends and her family. I think she was pleased. I surprised her with Disney.s Car.s Plate set, which she totally loves! So I think that made her extra happy!! We dont drink really, but we went and bought some Malib.u anyways lol. And the guy at the liquor store gave her a free bottle of Rum. :)

Today, were going to lunch with my friend from high school that I havent seen in forever!!

:)
