Something Borrowed :)

Last week, we went to see Something Borrowed. I have been wanting to read the book since I saw the previews for the movie. Ha. Yes, that's what I do. I wait for the movie to be made and then read the book. It is exactly what I did with The Twilight Series. :) I really liked the movie... although I think the book will be better. I do love Ginnifer Goodwin, she's just so cute and innocent. I especially like her role on HBO's Big Love. The only thing that bugged me during the movies, was the bangs on Goodwin's character... I just wanted to scream Girl, get your hair outta your face!!!! But, thats neither here, nor there. :)

BFF Date!

Yesterday we went to see my bestie.... I wrote this BLOG about her. We drove 2 hours north of where we live and she drove 2 hours south of where she lives, so we could meet in the middle. I haven't seen her in probably 2 1/2 years. Last time I saw her I was buying a washer/dryer set from her new in-laws. They were all getting ready to move north and I was getting ready to move south to be with Jess.  Anyways.... Jess and I both managed to get the day off :) We had the best time just talking and catching up. We ate lunch with her, her hubby, and her little girl! Her daughter is simply preesh! She is almost 3 and teeny-tiny in size but has BIG personality! She was a tad shy as first and kept giving Jess these evil side glances lol... funniest thing ever! She such an awesome mom and her husband is equally an awesome dad. I haven't been around too many guys that actually help with the child and not just have the mom do everything. He is very-much a hands on DAD! :)

Addicted!!

(This is our 100th post!!)

My name is Shirrell... And I am addicted to my iPhone!

Seriously, I never put my phone down.  I can't even watch TV anymore without being on my phone. I don’t enjoy the show because I don’t keep up with what is going on. Jess really hates this, too. Although I don’t believe she has room to talk, Seems to me she is always on her blackberry or the iPod touch. Plus, we are both addicted to Words with Friends. Enough said. I feel like I am always checking my email, my grades, Facebook, etc. I told her last night that I wanted to be unplugged, while we ate and watched our shows. I didn’t make it 30 min! I feel like I get bored with the show and I need to “just check something really quick!”

But I love my iPhone. :)

My other addiction is nbc's The Voice :) Vicci Martinez is by far my favorite. Her voice is so beautiful and raspy. Plus, she's one of us ;) The premier night, I was on the phone with my mom and she asked if I was watching it. She always watches stuff like this but I hardly ever do. I turned it on just when she asked me and of course Vicci was on... I was like "omg shes gay :)" I realize that its stupid to always point out if someone's is gay, But I figure if the whole world is doing in a negative way, might as well be some of us that point and smile. :)

HIM or HSA?

What the heck is that?

So recently I received a letter from a college I applied to for nursing. Well... I didnt get into the nursing program.. something about my core not being completely done. I think maybe they denied all the students not completely done because they had SO MANY applicants. I mean 800 people applied.. and they only take 60 I think? Anyways, they sent me a letter saying I met all the other requirements for a few other programs and I should look into them.

HIM or Health Information Management... I am not too sure what this means.. but from what I goo.gled, I am thinking an office job dealing with medical records and patient history, with saleries from $37,000-161,000. WHAT?!? Uh yes please! The college even has it listed that more than half their graduates start out making $55,000, and within 5 years they are making $65-75,000. Umm.. I think I can do that and forget nursing. I mean I can still be in healthcare with this :)

HSA or Health Services Administration... I feel like its almost the exact same as HIM. And the pay is just about equal. I cant find the exact difference yet.. but I am still researching..

Umm... did I miss something? All I have heard since high school is nursing is the only way to go in healthcare. But these sound like great jobs.. in fact.. a little too good to be true. =/ It even says these fields are tripling each year. Next Wednesday, I am meeting with an advisor about the HIM program and I am going to figure exactly what it is. I also want to know exactly what needs to happen for me to get in :)
