Guilty Pleasures ~ Summer 2012

Aside from working ALL THE TIME right now... I am spending my days late-nights watching re-runs of old shows ... I have closed every night for the last 2 weeks due to training people. With several new people & me going back down to one day/week when school starts back, it has been CrAzY! I usually get off work around midnight & sleep till noon everyday. My life has been quite vampire like... ;)

We have been staying up super late watching netflix. We have been watching re-runs Grey's Anatomy & Bones all day everyday...

I used to love this show!

I love him... he was always my favorite.

Other than watching old re-runs... abcfamily is seriously rocking my world these days. I love me some PLL!

I watch this EVERY week on my ipad.

We cut out cable to save money for moving, the Wedding, & the honeymoon

Truthfully, we havent missed cable. We have Hulu & Netflix and Abc has *FREE* that show current shows.

Few things I would say to the PLL:

1. Stop letting people walk out of a room without finishing a damn conversation. So much could be solved this way!

2. Stay away from shady places that yall always get caught in and make yall look guilty.

3. Screw A. Tell anyone & everyone about these threats including those shady ass cops.

4. Tell your parents the truth about all this A crap so they will stop thinking yall are guilty of something all the time.

5. Stop going places alone. Geez.

Idk about the plot yet... but I love this chick.

SHE is funny, in that Lorelai Gilmore kinda way.

Wedding Wednesday: The colors

We have always known the colors would be red, black, & white. Mostly white with red & black accents. This picture above of the bouquet is basically what we want our bouquets to look like. Mine will big like this one. Jess just wants a small one, maybe 6 roses, that will attach to mine when I throw it.

I love this cake... but with roses.(more on that later!) We like these centerpieces, with red roses for the first pic. For the second pic.. I really like black marbles, white candles, and tiny red roses. & for the 4th pic... I think I want an aisle runner like this. I think I have figured out how to DIY this and spend a lot less money. Between me, Jess, my mom, and my Aunt Kathy... Im pretty sure if we want it... it can be DIY style. We are all pretty crafty people (even Jess! even she doesnt like to show it)

Introducing Wedding Wednesday!!

 We originally wanted to have our wedding after I get out of nursing school, but I dont graduate until December 2013. By the next summer I would 28. I dont want to wait that long. So we thought we would have it October 2013 during my last semester, but Im thinking the last semester will be too difficult to be worrying about a wedding. The we decided Summer 2013. I dont have classes during the summer so that will be a perfect time. The only thing is IT WILL BE HOTTER THAN HELL. Seriously. Georgia is HOT in the summer. & we all know how much I hate the heat. However, our 5 year anniversary will be July 27, 2013. How perfect would a wedding be on our actual anniversary??

 Forget the heat and that it may mess up my hair. Who cares?! It will be perfect. :)

So we are in the beginning stages of planning our wedding & I'm loving it! Its pretty much all I talk about these days. I cant help it. I have dreamed about this day my whole life. We have pretty much planned everything... now just to get things in motion. Oh yea... and pay for it all ;)

We think we have a budget we can afford and hopefully manage to pay for ourselves. Idk exactly how we will pull this off since we are both college students (Jess is hoping to go back in the fall for radiology!)  but we will try!!

This is whats going on:

The date is set.

The venue is narrowed down between two places.

The food is being discussed.

The style of the dresses (yes, Jess will be in a dress too!) have been chosen.

The colors are set. Red, black, & white.

The bouquets are set.

The details of how the wedding/reception will flow are in progress.


Thank God for my Bestie whom is helping plan from 4 hours away & FB, Pinterest, and texting make it so much easier!! I seriously dont know what I would do without her. I sent her a fb message with account logins and passwords to get her opinions on what she liked or how we could use it.

Thats a true BFF.

March 3, 2012 ~ Birthday Surprise!

Picture it.

Cold, rainy Saturday. I'm sick with allergies and feeling horrible. I had been sick with sinus issues for days. I'm attempting to study for my second test in nursing school, which was only 2 days away. And lets just say I didnt do well on the first. Oh yea... & its my 26th birthday.

We planned a simple dinner with a couple friends. No big deal. I was leaning toward canceling the whole thing because I was miserable & I was stressed about my test. Only problem was Jess said I couldnt have my present if we didnt go to dinner. *pouty pants* Well I love me some gifts, big or small, expensive or homemade. I dont care I just want my damn presents. How dare she not give me my present when I was clearly in need of a mood lifter and pampering?!

Meanwhile, my friend was blowing up my phone asking me when I would be ready. She was nearly crushed when I said I was sick & wanted to stay home. I figured since she has 3 kids (one of which was 3 months old!) she prob needed to Mommy Night Out time. So I dragged my pathetic ass to the shower and tried to wash away the misery of sinus pressure, swollen face, and puffy eyes.

I guess the hot shower did some good because I felt almost 100% better. I looked pretty cute too, considering how I was feeling an hour before. Soooo.... since I agreed to go to dinner, I got my present! She made me the sweet scrapbook with song lyrics to one of our songs. Metallica's Nothing Else Matters is one of my favorite songs and the lyrics are just so perfect. Life is ours, we live it our way. And nothing else matters. Love it. Anyways... on the last page she wrote me a letter saying how much she loved every minute we have been together and that she looks forward to the rest of our lives together. I looked up and she was on one knee!!! SHE PROPOSED!! She was saying how she wanted to spend the rest of her life with me & I barely let her get the words out before I pulled her up and kissed her. Of course I said YES!

I love it!! This is exactly what I wanted. Which is awesome that she knew that because I had been changing my mind from what I thought I had always wanted. I used to want a solitaire princess cut diamond.. but a friend of ours had something similar to this ring and I just thought it was so beautiful. Antique-like. <3 

This is what I similar to what I wore... somehow I forgot to get pictures of us on my birthday & engagement. Boo. I guess it was all the allergy meds I was on ;)

I called all my friends... who all knew already! They were eagerly waiting and hoping it would happen soon. Apparently, she had the ring for almost 3 months. She had giving my mom money to hide, so I wouldnt notice money coming from our checking account. Sigh. Love her... I asked if she asked my moms permission.... of course she did. She knew that was important to me. She told everyone we know to get opinions and so worth. She even sent pics to our friend asking if this ring was similar to hers because she knows how much I loved her ring. She thought of many, many ideas on how to do it, including taking me to the beach. Which she asked if I wanted to go for my birthday weekend and I said no because I had to study. Dammit. Ruined that surprise. But really, it doesnt matter how she did it.... all that matters is that were together... and I got a ring that we love each other more than words could ever describe. ;) I love love love my ring! I couldnt have picked out a better one!!

Omg.. lets catch up!

How has it been almost 4 months since I have blogged?? Geez where does the time go?!

Ok seriously.. I hated the look of my blog and more importantly I hated that I couldnt fix it. I couldnt stand looking at the blog, let alone trying to think of something to blog about. Im usually pretty good about figuring things out... if lights suddenly go out on one side of the apartment. I got it. I know exactly which breaker has tripped. (This is funny to me because Jess doesnt ha!) If we get a new TV or anything electrical (electronical as my momma would say! ;) ). I hook it all up without reading directions and it usually works right the first time. But this damn blog sent me over the edge. I googled every imaginable phrase to find something to teach me to make a damn header that I was happy with. So for the last 2 weeks or so on my off days I tried to figure this shit out. I settled on a collage with a white background. BAM! Done. I actually like it. Then I spent several days trying to figure out those damn social media icons. After nearly pulling my hair out and throwing my laptop clear across the room... I heard Angels singing... and found this lady's blog on making your own icons. God bless her!! Took me 15 min to make mine and Jess' icons! Score. And she taught me how to make my own button. Never knew I wanted one till I read her blog!! Now, I am a happy girl and life is complete.

Since I last blogged.... so much as happened. But they deserve individual posts-- so here's whats coming soon...

Valentine's Day 2012

Hello!

Its so hard to find the time to blog. Seems we are ALWAYS busy.. Jess works almost everyday. Between her internship, working bball games for her scholarship, and her actual paying job... she never has a day off. But luckily I convinced her to takes Sundays off from now on. She deserves one day to herself. And to spend time with me ;)

We are having a low-key Valentine's Day this year. We done big before and we just dont have the time for it this year. I kinda like just being home with her. We exchanged cards, and she got me roses (she knows the way to my heart!) She also surprised me and had lunch with me between my classes.. love that. When I got home from class, she had dinner almost ready... Steak, baked potatoes, and AMAZING green beans. Omg so good. She even cleaned the kitchen & cleaned off the table! If you have been reading for a while, (or know us in real life) you know this is our one & only issue! Haha.

I had planned to start making her a collage on canvas similar to this..

But with our names, nicknames, K & M, anniversary date etc.

I made the collage but thought we could finish it together!

2009: I dont have a post for Vday 2009 because I didnt start blogging till May 2009! But I surprised her in SC for her bball game. She was super excited... but kinda figured I would do that. But she had no idea I had decorated her room before I left and when she returned home this is what she found....

Vicious Monsters

So since I started nursing school 4 weeks ago (omg cant believe its been a month!), we have developed a nice little routine.

Monday- Lab 8-430
Tuesday- Lecture 9-4
Wednesday & Thursday- recuperate from the stress of lab/class & study
Friday- Work 1-7
Saturday & Sunday- rest and study to prepare for lab/class the next week.

Yes I need THAT MUCH time to rest & study. Its taking a toll on my nerves. I cant relax mentally bc Im always worrying about whats due or what I need to do or what I have done. Geez. That part sucks. But what is great is learning how to do what I have always wanted to do.

I have an online test due by midnight tomorrow, a dosage calculation test on Monday, and a lecture exam on Tuesday. Ahhhh... Que the panic attack, lack of sleep, and constant worry now. I feel pretty good about the calc test, semi ok with the lecture test.. but I have no clue about the online test. Guess its a good thing its online.

In other news... I love my dogs. They make the bad days seem better just because all they care about is that I gives them plenty of snuggles and of course provide yummy treats. Cute right?!

Well.. lemme tell how about today... I took the babies out for a walk and thought that sense it was pretty I would take them on a long walk. We got half way to the Pet Station when out of NO WHERE K & M start raising hell and yanking their leashes and flipping around all crazy. They were viciously trying to attack a husky. WTF? My sweet little angels turn into mean devils when they see another dog. Ugh... drives me nuts because they tangle me up in their leashes (because of course they have retractable leashes because I want to have them to have their own space). This man came out on his porch because he thought their was a real dog fight and that someone needed help. He just laughed when he saw my teeny tiny babies ready to attack a 100 lb husky. I had to explain that of course K & M have no idea that they are 5-10 lbs.. because they think they are 100 lb pit bulls! Mango truly believes he is a pit bull because the lady we got him from had 6 pit bulls that were inside dogs! But thats another story for another day :)
